ALL STUDENTS ENROLLED AT WNYMCS ARE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A HEALTHY BREAKFAST AND LUNCH AT NO CHARGE TO YOUR HOUSEHOLD FOR THE 2022-2026 SCHOOL YEARS
The School Nutritional Program is meeting new stringent but exciting federal nutrition standards for school meals. These new standards ensure that meals are healthy and well-balanced to provide students with all the nutrition they need to succeed in school.
The new standards set strict regulations for portion sizes yet offer a wide variety of different fruits, vegetables, proteins, and grains. Some of the new standards include:
Portion sizes and calories individualized for each grade group (5-12).
Fat-free or low-fat milk varieties.
More whole-grain products such as breads, pastas, and rice.
Students must select a minimum of 1 cup of fruit or vegetable on their tray at lunch.
We are always working to offer our students healthy and nutritious school lunch choices. School meals are a great value and a huge convenience for busy families. Encouraging your child to choose a well-balanced school breakfast and lunch will teach them to make smart food choices and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
WE ARE PLEASE TO INFORM YOU THAT WNYMCS WILL BE IMPLEMENTING A MEAL CERTIFICATION OPTION AVAILABLE TO SCHOOLS PARTICIPATING IN THE NATIONAL SCHOOL BREAKFAST AND LUNCH PROGRAMS.

To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
